What I'm eating

I decided to make something healthy for dessert the other night and chose this:
Caramelized Pineapple

Ingredients:

6 thick pieces of pineapple
1 orange
3 tablespoons brown sugar

1. Preheat the oven to Broil.
2. Place pineapple on a cooking sheet and squeeze half the orange and sprinkle half the brown sugar on the tops of the slices.
3. Broil for 3 minutes
4. Take out of the oven and flip the pieces to put the remainders of the orange juice and brown sugar on.
5. Broil for 5 more minutes.

It's probably really yummy with some ice cream, but I skipped that part!

Alexa Chung + Madewell

Yes, you've read correctly. Alexa Chung has gotten together with Madewell for a Fall 2010 collection...did I mention it is FAB?

“It” girl Alexa Chung presented her first collaboration for Madewell on Monday night at the Bowery Hotel surrounded by a sea of friends and hipsters. The collection was as sweet as can be, but not in a saccharine kind of way. The designer showed looks with a Sixties schoolgirl vibe from cute Peter Pan-collared tea frocks and cool denim dresses to shrunken preppy blazers and high-waisted short shorts. According to Chung, it was an effortless venture.

Seeing all the pictures just made me want to go shopping. For more photos go to the source.

Thrifting finds

I made a long over due stop into one of my favorite thrift stores in town and got a ton of new things today. I brought along one of my best friends that has never been big into thrift stores. She made out with a fabulous 100% down comforter for a very low price. I got a lot of shirts and tops, as usual. I feel like I could never have enough shirts.

In the Spotlight: Anja Rubik

Anja Rubik is one of my favorie models in the industry right now. I love almost everything she chooses to work on. I loved when she did work for The Gap when I was working there because I could look at her on blown-up images all the time.

The photos below were taken by Carter Smith. She looks so vibrant and youthful, which I love!

In the Spotlight: Gary Graham

I love the collection for Fall 2010 by Gary Graham. I've never been a big fan of draping, but the way it's shown above is enough for me to handle. I also love the fact that he has some men's clothing.

Bits of the weekend

I hate to say it, but I really didn't do anything this weekend at all. I put in a lot of hours for work this weekend and spent some time with my friends. My boyfriend and I avoided Valentines Day entirely, so yesterday was just a lazy day.

Today all 3 of my classes were cancelled so I've taken the day to catch up on school work, including a ton of drawings and a paper I need to write. Not to mention, I started working out again for the first time since I've been sick and it feels great!
